To develop planting area codes, four pomelo-growing regions are eligible.

After the US Department of Agriculture (USDA) published its decision to permit the import of pomelo fruit in the federal gazette, the Plant Protection Department (Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development) held a ceremony to declare the phytosanitary standards for pomelos shipped to the US. Vietnamese exports of fresh pomelo go to this market.

To date, the dossiers for the issuance of codes in 4 pomelo-growing regions (including Kim Long organic pomelo farm, Hoang Long 1 pomelo farm, Hoang Long 2 pomelo farm, and Song Xoai green skin pomelo) of Mr. Truong Van Ut and Mr. Ho Hoang Kha in the TX area have been exported to this market in Ba Ria-Vung Tau in preparation for the export of fresh pomelos to the US market. Phu My, which covers 68ha in total. These farms have complied with the fundamental requirements for the procedure of creating and overseeing planting area codes as laid out in TCCS 774:2020/BVTV.

Future planting area codes for durian and dragon fruit will be established, managed, and requested by the Provincial Sub-Department of Cultivation and Plant Protection. The Xuyen Moc district wanted to increase the region for the issuance of area codes at the same time longan was being grown for export.

The Xuyen Moc district is now preparing registration dossiers for the issuance of 4 planting area codes, with a total area of 57ha, an anticipated annual production of around 1,630 tons, and an estimated annual export production of 1,427 tons. For the Chau Duc district's durian growing area code, work is now being done on the dossier and registration for the grant of six planting area codes with a combined size of 80 ha and expected outputs of 600 tons/year and 500 tons/year. Durian Cooperative 9B, which has a 20ha area, and the 60ha durian growing area in Xa Bang Commune, Chau Duc District, are among the organizations now registered for exporting durian.
